The Ten Commandments (1923)
Cecile B. DeMille produced two films on the Ten Commandments. The better-known one (starring Charlton Heston & Yul Brenner) was produced in 1956 and the score was written by a young Elmer Bernstein.

But DeMille's first version was a silent one in 1923. When the movie premiered in New York in December of 1923, Hugo Reisenfeld provided the live musical accompaniement employing 40 musicians.
