CD Covers Never Seen in Stores
Due to the rapid increase in the availability of downloadable recordings, the music retail industry has had a sudden need for album covers that accompany these offerings. While most of the downloads are of traditional releases that can use the cover art prepared for the CD, there are the downloads of licensed recordings that need a fresh piece of artwork. As of this writing, many of these downloads are the Scholz / South German Philharmonic recordings with the standard pseudonyms (Cesare Cantieri, etc.) but there are some new names like a Bruckner 9th with Marian Bittner and the Orchestra Musica Viva (actually the Mravinsky recording). Another top contender in these download offerings is Gennadi Rozhdestvensky. But the cover art displays some occasional originality so they are presented here.
