It is only fitting that Blomstedt should record his own Bruckner cycle and thanks to Querstand in Germany, that cycle is almost complete. The latest installment is the Symphony No. 3 which Blomstedt has been performing in the first version of 1873. This performance was recorded with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra on September 23-24, 2010. This is actually the second Blomstedt Bruckner Third to be released by Querstand. The first was part of a 5 CD set of Blomstedt performances that was recorded in 1998.
