NEW INFORMATION ABOUT THE GERD RUBAHN SYMPHONY No. 3
After 50 years of speculation and a belief that the Allegro Royale LP of the Bruckner 3rd was actually performed by Leopold Ludwig and the Berlin Philharmonic, actual recording comparisons prove that it is probably not Ludwig. So who can it be??? Click here. This mysterious recording is the DOWNLOAD OF THE MONTH.
NEW RELEASES AND RE-STOCKS
Click below to see Preisers list of Bruckner releases:

Please check the new releases section for a listing of all new releases. In addition, the Delta recording of the Bruckner Symphony No. 8 has been re-stocked. This recording has been out-of-print in Japan for about one year. It features the world premiere (and only) recording of the Bruckner Symphony No. 8 with the Intermediate Adagio of 1888. Akira Naito conducts the Tokyo New City Orchestra. To order, click here.
INTERESTING DOWNLOAD SITE
Several old recordings (essentially out of copyright) are available at www.archive.org. or www.europaachive.org. Just type Bruckner into the search engine. You can download pictures of the covers as well. Two books can also be accessed.
BRUCKNER IN THE MOVIES
Check out the "Bruckner in the Movies" link in the Download section of this website. We have added a number of movies and have included some audio clips. You will be surprised at the number of films that have used Bruckner's music.
JAPAN EMI KARAJAN CD GOOF
EMI Japan has released a 4 CD set (TOCE-56056/59) in their Great Performance Series which features Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic in performances of Schumann Symphonies and the Symphonies No. 4, 7, and 8 of Anton Bruckner. The good news is that they have corrected the error in the last movement of the Symphony No. 7. The bad news is that the Symphony No. 4 is not by Karajan but the EMI recording conducted by Simon Rattle!. If you purchased the set, check the timings with those listed in the Discography.
BENJAMIN GUNNAR COHRS POSTS NEW ESSAY
Gunnar Cohrs has prepared a new essay on the completion of the Symphony No.9. It has replaced the previous essay. The link can be found under the Symphony No. 9-Finale section of the discography and in the Articles section of the website. For now you can simply click here.
LOOKING FOR RECORDINGS
In addition to gathering all the commercial recordings of Bruckner's orchestral music, I am also looking for airchecks. If you think you may have some that I might not have, please contact me. I am especially interested in local performances that might not have made it to a national broadcast. Copies of the Gerhard Markson Bruckner cycle broadcast on Lyric FM would be most welcome.
