Karl Walbeck: Fantasy for Grand Organ in G Minor

Karl Walbeck: Fantasy for Grand Organ in G Minor
Karl Walbeck was born in St. Thomas am Blasenstein (Upper Austria) in 1841. Around 1855 he met Anton Bruckner in Linz and became a student of him. Walbeck became an accomplished organist and improviser and stood in for Bruckner at the cathedral when Bruckner was away. In 1867, when Bruckner moved to Vienna, Walbeck was appointed Bruckner's successor as cathedral organist. That same year, Bruckner gave a theme to Walbeck which the organist used as the central theme to his Fantasy for Grand Organ.
