Joseph Messner: Improvisation on a Theme by A. Bruckner
Joseph Messner (1893-1969) was an accomplished organist and known for his skill as an improvisor. It seems logical that he would find an affinity to the music of Bruckner. In addition to this improvisation, based on Bruckner's "Et vitem venturi saeculi, Amen" from the F Minor Mass, Messnar made an arrangement of Bruckner's "Windhaag Mass" for Chorus, Organ and small orchestra (See Download of the Month for April, 2014).
