Thomas Doss: St. Florian Chorale - In Memoriam Anton Bruckner
Thomas Doss (born 1966) comes from an extended family of musicians. His parents, both professional musicians, pass him, from an early age, solid musical foundation. He later studied at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, his hometown, the Institute of Musicology at the University of Vienna (Wien Konservatorium Privatuniversität), the Mozarteum in Salzburg, then entered the Conservatory of Maastricht in the classes of trombone, direction and composition for orchestra. Intern at MGM studios in Los Angeles, California, he seized the opportunity given to it to work, among others, John Williams, to achieve different soundtracks. At 18, Thomas Doss's already said as chief conductor of very active. Among the courses that he runs include the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Erfurt, the Chamber Philharmonic of Southern Bohemia and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Budweis. In 1990, at 24, he was appointed permanent conductor of the Orchestre National de Quedlinburg in Germany. Thomas Doss was a guest conductor, adjudicator, and popular teacher. He actively participates in the training of directors of Harmony Orchestra of Upper Austria and teaches conducting at the direction of the Institute of Musicology at the University of Vienna. Alongside his activities as head of orchestra, he leads a successful career as a composer. Thomas Doss is the author of numerous works for various instrumental ensembles, including the Orchestra of Harmony. Winner of numerous awards for composition, he says in 2001 the publication of most of his works to Mitropa Music Publishing, Publishing De Haske partners.
