Jesus Masia's Bruckner "Coda"

Jesus Masia's Bruckner "Coda"
Jesus Masia, a Bruckner enthusiast who lives in Spain has created an interesting video.

Mr. Masia states that, "It is a deeply personal tribute: my own version of the final coda from the fourth movement of his Ninth Symphony, enhanced with audiovisual effects.

This project develops an original artistic idea. Instead of ending with the traditional full orchestral tutti in fff, the piece concludes in a delicate ppp. To achieve this, I expanded Bruckner's usual orchestral palette by incorporating unusual timbres like the harp and bells. Together with the horns, a string staccato, and the timpani, they close the work like a whisper fading into the universe.

Rather than a "scientific" or academic continuation of the composer's intent, this is a highly subjective and unique contribution, born out of the profound admiration I hold for him."

In addition to the audio, Mr. Masia has included some of his highly original paintings which include images of Bruckner.

The video can be seen here.
