Barenboim paired the performance of the Symphony No. 20 with the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 25. As in all of these Mozart performances, Barenboim led the orchestra from the piano.
Program note annotator for Carnegie Hall, Janet E. Bedsell incorrectly indicated that the version played was the 1877 Nowak Edition. In fact it was the 1877 edition as prepared by William Carragan.

At the conclusion of the concert, Carnegie Hall president, Clive Gillinson came on stage to announce that this day marked the sixtieth anniversary of Daniel Barenboim's debut at Carnegie Hall.
