More Bruckner Confusion!

More Bruckner Confusion!
Program annotator, Jonathan Kramer refers to it as the Bruckner Problem in his program notes to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra concert of the Symphony No. 8. Naturally, he is referring to the difficulties with all the differing editions and versions of the Bruckner symphonies. But he settles the issue in the closing sentence by informing the audience that the performance at this concert will be the 1887 version. The radio audience is given the same information when WGUC presented the delayed broadcast. Unfortunately, all of this is wrong. Mr. Kramer passed away in 2004 and the notes used actually refer to the version that Jesus Lopes Cobos performed (and recorded for Telarc) back in 2005. Paavo Jarvi performed the 1890 Nowak edition. Someone at the Cincinnati Symphony needs to proof read their program notes.
