The Bruckner Society's 2018 Brucknerathon / Symposium & Annual Meeting

The Bruckner Society's 2018 Brucknerathon / Symposium & Annual Meeting
The 2018 Brucknerathon was again sponsored by the Bruckner Society of America. It took place over the weekend of September 14-16. Due to scheduling conflicts, this is a week later than usual. Other than that, the program followed the traditional schedule.

On Friday, September 14th, there was an open house at the home of John Berky in Windsor, Connecticut. During the party, William Carragan handed out the latest draft of his new book being prepared in cooperation with the Bruckner Society. The book has a red cover and that is what can be seen in everyone's hands in the pictures below.

At around 6PM, we headed to the Track 139 Restaurant in Windsor Center. The restaurant features a Portuguese / American cuisine. Here John handed out a special Bruckner ceramic tile coaster to each of the attendees. It also has a private dining room which afforded the group some time for relaxed conversation.

Saturday morning was set aside for the official listening session. The music began at 8AM and followed the playlist and schedule shown below. Those who did not have breakfast at the hotel were treated to bagels, home-made banana bread and lemon bars. Lunch consisted of ham, turkey, tuna and veggie wraps. During the afternoon listening sessions, home-made cookies, crackers and cheese and chips were available. After a dinner of lasagna and tortellini and a special Bruckner cake, we shifted over to video presentations. The session ended at 11:30PM.

Sunday morning was devoted to the Annual Meeting of the Bruckner Society. Details of that meeting will be announced here at a later date.
