BBC Music Magazine features a Bruckner CD! (UPDATED)
The May 2020 issue of the BBC Music Magazine features a CD containing the Bruckner Symphony No. 8 with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Donald Runnicles. The CD cover states that the performance was recorded at City Halls, Glascow on January 21, 2010. However, comparisons of this performance with several BBC concert broadcasts confirms that the CD actually contains the January 23, 2010 performance given at Town Hall in Leeds. The editorial staff of the magazine has confirmed this error. It appears that they originally planned to offer the Glascow performance but switched to the Leeds performance after the covers were printed. The switch probably had to do with the Glascow performance lasting just over 80 minutes and that might have involved a second CD..

The compact disc is included with each issue of the magazine.

Bruckner has always fared well as a CD featured composer with the magazine. Earlier issues included:

Symphony No. 3: Andris Nelsons / City of Birmingham Symphony
Symphony No. 4: Ian Marin / BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra
Symphony No. 7: Petri Sakari / BBC National Orchestra of Wales
Symphony No. 9: Bernhard Klee / BBC Philharmonic

The CD of the Symphony No. 9 was included with the inaugural issue, Volume 1, No. 1.
