A Bruckner Serenade by the Tokyo Sinfonia - CDs and Scores available!
Several of Bruckner's works have been arranged for the 19 strings of the Tokyo Sinfonia for an all-Bruckner concert earlier this year. Conducted by Robert Ryker, this was the fifth in an ongoing series of quarterly events entitled Symphonies for Strings. The Bruckner program included the Overture in G Minor (1863), Four Orchestral Pieces (1862), and Bruckner's 1879 Quintet in F Major. Ryker reduced the scoring of the overture and the four early pieces, and expanded the orchestration of the string quintet, thus making it a Symphony for Strings. The concert was recorded live and the recording is available through this website.

The Sinfonia also offers the scores for sale. The study scores sell for $15 for large works like the Symphony for Strings, $10 for smaller scores like the Overture and the Four Pieces. Parts are available as well. Inquiries regarding the scores should be addressed to:
