Woess, Josef V.: Forwards to the Universal Editions of the Bruckner Symphonies

Josef Venantius Woess (1863-1943) was the editor of the complete set of Bruckner Symphonies that was published by Universal-Edition A.G. in 1927. While these early editions can be downloaded from this website here, the written forward by the editor is not included. In the study editions of these scores, Mr. Woess' forwards were provided in German, English and French in three very tightly margined columns. Fortunately, the English translation was the center column and they could be scanned without too much pressure being brought to bear on the delicate booklets. The English columns were then rotated, straightened and cropped for easier reading. I am still looking for a copy of the UE score of the Overture in G Minor. If you have one, please contact me.
