Howie, Crawford: Anton Bruckner - A Documentary Biography

Crawford Howie was a lecturer in music at the University of Manchester in the U.K. where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1969. He has contributed several articles and signed reviews to learned journals, is associate editor of the Bruckner Journal and co-edited the book, "Perspectives on Anton Bruckner."

Howie's remarkable "Documentary Biography" was first published in 2002 by the Edwin Mellon Press. The two-volume book was very expensive, but nevertheless quickly sold out and has been extremely difficult to obtain.

Happily, Professor Howie has revised the work and is now making it available online. All chapters are available for download below. My sincere thanks to Professor Howie for making this available.
