December, 2022: Helgoland: Wyn Morris / Symphonica of London / Ambrosian Male Voice Chorus / IMP Classics CD

Bruckner completed Helgoland in August of 1893. It proved to be the composer's last completed work. Composition on this commissioned work interrupted progress on his Ninth Symphony. It is a wonderful example of Bruckner's work for male chorus. Due to the unusual scoring and its nationalistic overtones, Helgoland is rarely performed and there are few recordings. This recording was issued on LP and CD in 1993 and in spite of its quality, it has been long out-of-print.
