In the late 1940's the composer and arranger, Leighton Lucas (1903-1982) compiled a series of production music discs for EMI. For a series of these discs, Lucas chose selections from the first and second movements of the Bruckner Symphony No. 9. Extracts of the first movement were released and the scherzo and trio sections of the second movement. The recording provided here contains all the first movement extracts in proper order and the entire second movement by repeating the scherzo section again. This is certainly one of the oddest recordings in the discography and virtually impossible to find.
