Symphony No. 5: Wolfgang Hofmann / Bruckner Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart

This excellent performance, recorded in May of 2011, has the added feature of a wonderful introductory organ improvisation that lasts a full eleven minutes and leads seamlessly into the quiet opening chords of the Bruckner Symphony No. 5. The improvisation is full of Brucknerian themes so it works wonderfully as an introduction to the symphonic performance.
