The Wilhelm Furtwangler Society (SWF) releases an improved Furtwangler recording

Click to enlarge Since 1969, the Wilhelm Furtwängler Society (SWF) has been dedicated to promoting and publicizing the legacy of the great musician Wilhelm Furtwängler, through the publication of out-of-print CDs, the publication of studies and brochures, and the organization of conferences and concerts. The Society's most recent project is a new high definition release of the April, 1954 recording of Furtwangler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic in a performance of the Bruckner Symphony No. 8. This is the first time that this recording has been sourced from the original broadcast tape. For one to obtain the recording, membership in the Society is required.
