Kurt Masur's Truncated Bruckner 4th
On February 18, 2010, Kurt Masur performed the Bruckner 4th with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall. We he was applauded after the concert, Masur grabbed a score and held it up. Supposedly, it was the score that deserved the praise. But then why did he butcher the score by cutting the second part of the Scherzo dacapo? Instead of getting A-B-A -- C -- A-B-A, the audience got A-B-A -- C -- A. Speculation is swirling about why he did this. But let's just hope he doesn't do it again.
