There has been a good deal of debate regarding the true composer of the Symphonic Prelude. Some think it is by Bruckner, other point to his pupils, Gustav Mahler and Rudolf Krzyzanowski. Recently, Juan Cahis in Chile shared a letter he received from the late conductor, Georg Tintner which presents an interesting theory.

My thanks to Juan Cahis for allowing me to share this letter.
