Day Eight

Our day was spent in the City of Salzburg. A large part of the tour took advantage of a concert performance given as part of the 2015 Salzburg Festival. Daniel Barenboim was in town to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic in a performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 9.

Following the concert, there was a break for lunch, a city tour (including an obligatory stop at the Mozart Birthhouse). After some time on our own and a walk through the Mirabel Gardens, we took a leisurely bus ride through the lake country on our way to our overnight in Wels.
