Bruckner's Kronstorf Violin is restored

Bruckner's Kronstorf Violin is restored
For anyone who went on one of the Bruckner Tours of Austria - or anyone who has ventured into the small Austrian Town of Kronstorf, one of the highlights of the visit is to see Anton Bruckner's violin. Bruckner went to Kronstorf as a school teacher. In addition to his teaching duties, he was asked to play the violin at local festivities. When Bruckner left Kronstorf, he gave his violin in exchange for outstanding room rent and the violin has remained in the room that he rented ever since. In was displayed in a small case just opposite his small desk.

In celebration of Bruckner's 200th birthday, the violin has been restored (much like his Bosendorfer piano at St. Florian).

There is a short video on YouTube (in German) which feature the restoration of the violin.
