The Bruckner Society of America and the 1937 Regensburg Ceremony
Laying of the wreaths at Valhalla
In June of 1937, Anton Bruckner's bust was installed at the Valhalla Shrine in Regensburg, Germany. It was on that occasion that Joseph Goebbels gave his speech linking Bruckner ideologically to the Third Reich. The Bruckner Society of America provided funds for a wreath to be laid at the installation. The document below shows two letters from the President of the Bruckner Society of America to the President of the International Bruckner Society arranging for the purchase of the wreath.

My thanks to Gilles Houle and Dr. Andrea Harrandt for their assistance.
