Day 1: Traveling to Vienna


Tour participants are introduced

Today was primarily a day of travel for my wife, Marjory and tour participant Michael Cucka as we left Connecticut in the morning and travelled to JFK Airport for our flight to Berlin and then onto Vienna. At the Vienna Airport, we met tour particpant, George Zepos who flew in from Athens. After a brief rest at the hotel, some of us went off for our first excursion. I took advantage of our close proximity to Vienna's Stadtpark to visit the Bruckner monument.

At 7:00PM, the tour officially opened with a buffet dinner at our hotel in Vienna. All 22 participants arrived in time for the reception. We spent a few minutes introducing ourselves and it quickly became apparent that we were an international assemblage with participants coming from California, Texas, New York, and Connecticut in the United States, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Vietnam.

Over dinner, we were able to become acquainted with each other.
