Midsomer Murders is a long-running criminal investigation series in which a veteran detective and his young sergeant investigate murders around the regional community of Midsomer County. In a 2018 episode, entitled "The Curse of the Ninth, a prize-winning violinist is killed and his Stradivarius stolen. The team must sort through a myriad of suspects and motives to find the real killer. During the course of the episode, reference is made to Bruckner's unfinished Ninth Symphony.
