Faithless (Troloesa) (2000)

Faithless (Troloesa) (2000)
This Swedish film was directed by actress Liv Ullmann and written by Ingmar Bergman. The score uses segments of Bruckner's Symphony No. 5. In the scene where it is used, A woman describes to her lover how her husband performed the season's final concert with the Radio Symphony Orchestra. The performance used in the film is by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Joakim Unander. However; the maestro had this to say about the performance. "In the movie I acted as body double as well as musical coach for Mr Hanzon. At 7:30 in the morning, I was dressed up in tail coat, my small beard was shaven off, and I got a big wig and make up. Then at 9, I stood in front of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (we had done some work together and they laughed a bit at the costume) and did some rehearsing of the excerpts that were going to be in the film. Then the cameras rolled. It is a bizarre yet dear memory - but unfortunately, what is in the movie is all I ever conducted of this marvellous piece. As of yet..."
