October, 2025: Symphony No. 2 / Alexander Rahbari / BRTN Philharmonic Orchestra

Alexander Rahbari was born in Tehran in 1947. He was one of a long list of conductors who studied under Hans Swarowsky. In 1977, he emigrated to Europe and between 1988 and 1996, his activities centered in Belgium. During this time, he made numerous recordings for Naxos. For the the now defunct Discover label, three Bruckner symphonies were released - Symphonies 2, 3 and 5. This month's download is the Symphony No. 2 which was recorded with the BTRN Philharmonic Orchestra of Brussels in February of 1994.
