The Bruckner Archive | | | In addition to maintaining the Bruckner Orchestral Discography, it has been my endeavor to create an archive of Bruckner recordings that goes beyond the confines of commercially released recordings.
In spite of a very liberal listing policy for the Discography (commercial LPs and CDs, pirate recordings, transcriptions, etc.) there are still many hundreds of recordings that do not fit these criteria. These include airchecks (historic and recent), in-audience recordings and historic radio transcriptions.
As of this posting, the archive holds 4,300 recordings. These include CDs, 78's and LPs of performances not re-issued on CD, DVDs, laserdiscs of performances not re-issued on DVD, and CDRs of airchecks and in-audience performances. In addition, there are many documents, scores and artifacts that can be accessed via this website.
The Archive takes over the great work of David Aldeborgh of Poughkeepsie, New York.
Plans are presently in place for the archive to be housed at the Austrian National Library in Vienna.
