Berlin Philharmonic releasing Furtwanger's Wartime Recordings in a deluxe set
The Berliner Philharmoniker will be putting out a 22-CD box set this month of the complete wartime recordings of Wilhelm Furtwängler, its legendary chief conductor.

The recordings, which were taken by the Russians at the end of World War II and hidden until the collapse of the Soviet Union were returned to Germany as a good will gesture by Mikhail Gorbachev. There have been several previous releases of these historic wartime recordings, but this set is certain to be the best reproduction and the book itself will be a most welcome addition.

Included in the set are recordings of Bruckner's Symphonies Nos. 5, 6 (partial) and 9.

More information and a way to order the set can be found here.
