This New York Philharmonic performance, recorded on February 28, 1960, was released on the Baton label (LP # 1003). The Baton label was short lived (only ten releases) but it gave us an important musical document. Hindemith championed the Bruckner 7th. He recorded the 1st movement with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the TV studios of WGN. That video is currectly available on DVD. There is also a recording in existence of a 1955 performance with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony.
At the New York Philharmonic concert, a presentation was made to Hindemith. That presentation, which was part of the broadcast, is included here as well.
